Long way to go- Cassie (trouble uploading)
In her music video she also has a dance routine in it as she wants to show her talented skills.
At one point in the music video a weblink named 'lovecassie.com' trying to sell the artist through the internet, which is very popular as the atrists mainly get more fans through the world wide web.
The genre of this music video is also R&B as the style of music and lyrics also the main artist is portraying herself as a good looking young lady being hard to get.. which is similar to other artists in their music videos.
in this music video it is shown at the end during the dance routine the main artist disappears... we (three-plus-one) had a similar idea for our music video of the song 'train of thought' by the jackie boys to have a dance routine and at the end the main girl disappears, leaving the main boy (artist) to realise he was fanticising or reminiscing. Now knowing in confidence that this idea is trust able as another R&B music video has the similar storyboard of the genre of our choice.
Give it up to me- Sean Paul Ft Keyshia Cole
this music video shows its Genre characteristics easily as we could see the characters and dancers used in it. the most dominant race shown are black which would show the audience that the genre could most likely be of R&B.
There is a relationship between the music and the visuals. i could say this as i could see the dancers dancing to the beat of the music.
voyeurism is constantly shown throughout this music video as the woman are more revealing. and are dancing in a more sexual way to attract attention from the opposite sex.
i noticed in this music video it is storyboarded on dances and a few shots of just the artisits singing to the camera. They show choreographed dances as well as free style, they have many shots of actors all around like in a cirlce and all their attention is being payed to the ones dancing in the middle.
similarly to my ideas of me and my groups music video, i had the idea of having a few dancers around in a cirlce and all eyes should be on our two main actors (artist and the main girl). i was unsure about this idea but after witnessing it on an actual R&B music video i may consider it as our music video would have a choreographed dance towards the end of the song.

Music Video Of Shayne Ward- No Promises
We have pitched an idea within our group (3 plus 1) which is similar to the Artist Shayne Wards music video, which is the idea of having thoughts or reminicing the times(feeling presence). It visualy shows the artist being there at the present time but the connotation behind this is that the artist is not there but the other person takes not much notice. The audience would only realise this by the end of the music video as it clearly shows a grave stone.
what our group 3 plus 1 have pitched was to have the story boarding which is of the artist to walk into his thoughts and show what could happen if he could get the girl. he'd be walking behind her which is simialr to Shayne ward as he walks behind the main girl and sings. the girl we plan to use would take not much notice of him being behind her but maybe turns around once or twice to show her smiling at him in a flirtacious way. Builing up his hopes.
Music Video Of Chris Brown- Forever
I have chosen this music video to analyse as it mostly related to our music genre of choice which is R&B. This music video also follow the aspects of music videos from Goodwins point of theory. I know this as Chris Browns lyrics have a relationship with the visuals of the video 'and i wont let you fall girl' we see Chris Brown jumping off the building to save her from falling.
The music and visuals also have a relationship as we could see the jump shots and cutaways put together to create a nicely paced visual along with the counts of the music and the beats. It also meet the demands to promote the artist as the music video uses many close ups nd long shots of the main artist.
The use of notion of looking has also been put to use as we have the main artist looking passed a crown straight to the camera from the girls point of view. Voyeurism is used in this music video to represent a good looking, very attractive young girl to engage a wider audiences attention. i know that voyeurism is being used as there are close up shots of her figure, also the main girl is wearing a short but revealing black dress.
This music video being similar to my choice of music and genre gave me a couple of ideas on how i could create a R&B music video. As the Main artist Chris Brown has a lot of close up shots of his face, also i noticed a little choreographed dance routine, there were good use of lighting which had an affect on the music video, mid-shots of the girl and chris brown and long shot of the two together, as well as over the shoulder shot which i may consider using for my music video.

History of music videos
1927 came the first sound film, the Jazz singer "people wanted to see".
1930s introduced Soundies- 3minutes musical films. produced in New York, chicago and Hollywood between 1940 and 1946 often including short dance sequences.
1939- Panoram invented
1960s- Scopitone (like a juke box, but with videos). It was a forerunner of music video
there was a change in the musical landscape which now meant there was competition from multi-niche outlets e.g. we want to watch R&B we have TV and has different genre of music. so we are spoilt for choice in what type of genre we would like to listen to and watch.
Music videos are very essential for a recording artist today because the music videos itself is more important to the audiences rather than the actual vocals of the artists as they get buyers and more audience response by how good their music videos are.
music is more advanced now because as the audience we have a wider choice of what 'type' or 'genre' we could listen too. created a more niche option. for example music is now catergorized in different genres such as R&B, Rock and roll, POP, classical, jazz, arabian pop to australian pub rock. they have narrowed down to the most little niches there could be from huge genres such as R&B and hip hop and pop to genres such as furniture music and fusion jazz.
The first music video to come out on MTV was 'Video killed the Radio star' by the Buggles. This video uses sex to sell .. taking advantage of a womans attractiveness.
The music industry mainly convey the ideas of drugs, sex, rock n roll, relationships, being rebellious and having a good time.
Intertextuality is important to the music industry as it may gain more audiences and may buy more of a certain artists CD.
For example Cheryl coles music video 'Promise this' the end clip looks a lot like the Flake advert, so this may get 'flake lovers' to watch and buy her songs and also have more fans.
